We’re delighted to have a wonderful Reference 7928 Tudor Submariner in stock! This particular piece features the rarer "Chapter Ring Dial" with an intriguing "Exclamation Point" variant.

In the world of vintage Rolex and Tudor watches, there's an abundance of terminology. A "Chapter Ring" refers to a dial design with an enclosed circle around the perimeter, featuring markings for each minute or second, with thicker markings at every five intervals. This design is typically found on vintage sport models like Submariners, GMT-Masters, and Explorers. Around 1963, Rolex models shifted to the “Open-Chapter Ring” style, which lacks the circular line, but the Chapter Ring design is honored in many contemporary TUDOR Black Bay models.

Our version also features the rare "Exclamation Point," where Tudor (and their Rolex counterparts) added a small lume dot below the marker at six o'clock, resembling an exclamation mark (!). Scholars suggest this was done to mark the transition from Radium to Tritium-based lume, although the exact reason remains a bit of a mystery. This feature was only present in the 1961/1962 versions, adding to the watch's uniqueness and allure.

The case is in excellent condition, especially for a 60-year-old diving watch, with the pointed crown guards still in great shape. The fat font insert has faded to a pleasant washed grey color, and the fitted pearl at 12 o’clock is an aftermarket addition. The dial is in superb condition, with the lume having developed a charming yellow tone. The hands are in great shape as well, featuring the rarer “Lollipop” second hand, where the round part is larger than in later versions.

The watch is fitted with a Rivet Rolex Oyster bracelet, ref. 7206, with end links marked 58 and a clasp stamped 4 66. Additionally, this remarkable Submariner comes with its original and rare Tudor inner and outer boxes. The watch has been checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
