THE TRANSITIONAL ROLEX MATTE DIAL SEADWELLER
In the early 1980s Rolex began using more robust sapphire crystals on their watches. Known as ‘transitional’ models, early example were fitted with matte dials – a lot like the dials in the plastic glass watches that had preceded them. This transitional Seadweller retains a beautiful Mk2 matte dial (many were replaced at service with glossy dials) with a creamy patina on the hour plots that match the hand lume perfectly. The bezel inlay is particularly cool, having turned a dark blue hue and having its original tritium pearl. The case is very full, with good thick lugs. The solid link Oyster bracelet is in very good condition. This ‘triple six’ comes with both inner and outer boxes, Your Oyster booklet and wallet. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker and will come with a strap of your choice from our webshop*.
