The Last of the Zenith Daytonas…
The Zenith-era Daytonas have seen a meteoric rise in recent years as collectors have turned their attention to this important watch in Rolex’s history. It was their first self-winding chrono and was the first chronograph to come in a 40mm case size – and we love them! They have a lot of presence on the wrist and are robust enough for daily wear due to the sapphire glass. The ref 16518 came from the factory on a leather strap fitted with a yellow gold deployment clasp – in this case brown crocodile. The dial is made from mother of pearl (MOP) with applied Arabic numerals. These MOP dials are incredible, especially on the wrist in the sunlight…perfect for summer! The case is in very good condition with a fat case. The 16518 is accompanied by both inner and outer boxes, punched papers, wallet, calendar card and translation booklet. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
