This Watch

We have here a quite unusual and Rare Cartier ladies watch. It is solid 18ct gold, unlike most of the Must de Cartier and Vermeil models that are sterling silver 925 with 20 micron plating on top. The stunning and sophisticated watch is not only solid gold, but has the classic and iconic white dial and Roman numerals The case itself is in fine condition and measures 24mm, making for a very comfortable wear on the wrist for a more petite/ladies wrist or someone who prefers discreet quality. Inside the case is the Swiss quartz caliber 81, fully serviced by us and running strongly.

The original, white dial has all the trademarks of a classic Cartier: Roman numerals, outer minute, railway-style tracking and cabochon winding crown.

The Vendôme lugs with the T-bar-type strap fitting are articulated. The watch comes paired with the original Cartier Brown Crocodile strap and The watch also comes with a Cartier box.

Extra Points

The 'Must De' Cartier concept was first introduced around 1973 when the Cartier lighter became the must-have accessory. Cartier branched out from jewellery to pens, leather goods, fragrances and more affordable watches. One of the main ways they transformed their designs way by making them out of vermeil, or silver gilt, which is gold-plated sterling silver. This made the watches more affordable whilst still having the prestige of being made from a precious metal. Various sizes, dial colours and finishes were then produced for both men and women. The Must de Cartier line was faded out at the beginning of the 21st century.

We love Cartier here at AWC as you can see from our other . We sold an identical but the three colour cold version recently and it did not last long It is a brand that offers timeless elegance across all of its watches, yet never fails to produce a variety of adaptations in its classic designs. A designer first and watchmakers second, this piece is a perfect representation of the world-famous house.
